The review and verification of the balance of one of the three generation units of the Alluriquín power plant, which is part of the Toachi Pilatón hydroelectric complex, marks the beginning of the mechanical tests prior to the start-up of this infrastructure, which will begin the progressive delivery of energy until completing 204 MW in February 2025.

CELEC EP Hidrotoapi technical staff, together with collaborators from the contractor Tyazhmash, checked that each of the systems, instruments and components of the unit are working optimally. The verification was carried out with a nominal speed of the turbine. After the evaluation, it was determined that there were no new developments. This allows us to move on to the next process, which corresponds to the execution of the first mechanical rotation of the generation units.

On the other hand, the filling of the reservoir on the Toachi River is developing normally, within the established deadlines. As of this afternoon, a level of 940 meters above sea level (masl) was recorded, which is consolidated as a significant advance to reach the level of 965 masl, which corresponds to the minimum operating level of the reservoir of this new hydroelectric power plant.

After 14 years of waiting, following a successful political decision by President Daniel Noboa, this plant will supply electricity to the National Interconnected System in order to strengthen the generation capacity and contribute significantly to the objectives set by the Government of New Ecuador.
