Merrill Lynch opens new LatAm office

US-based investment bank Merrill Lynch (NYSE: MER) has opened a new institutional advisory division office in El Paso, Texas to serve Mexican and Latin American institutional clients with US$150mn-1bn in assets, the bank said in a statement on Thursday. "The El Paso office gives Merrill Lynch an enhanced ability to deliver first class services tailored to institutional clients in Mexico and throughout Latin America," managing director of Merrill Lynch institutional advisory division managing director Andrew Edelmann said. The El Paso office is responsible for developing new relationships with institutional clients in those markets, and will provide a range of investment products and trading execution to clients through Merrill Lynch's New York trading desks and global network. Merrill Lynch is one of the world's leading financial management and advisory companies, with offices in 36 countries including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay and Venezuela.
