Message from the Finance Minister of Mexico, Rogelio Ramírez de la O
The winning presidential candidate, according to the official quick count, asked me to remain in the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, which I will do indefinitely, and ensure the following:
1. The reduction of the debt generated each year by 2025, to levels compatible with a sustainable debt/GDP range in the medium term, around 3% of GDP.
2. Update all communications with investors and rating agencies to confirm our priorities: macroeconomic stability, fiscal prudence and the viability of our fiscal objectives.
3. Strengthen collaboration with Pemex , taking advantage of the support in Congress to optimize the good use of public resources.
4. Confirm to international organizations and private investors that our project is based on financial discipline, abiding by the autonomy of the Bank of Mexico, adherence to the rule of law and facilitating national and foreign private investment.
As we work through the transition from one administration to the next, more information will be provided. Present with us today is Dr. Juan Ramón de la Fuente, in charge of coordinating Dr. Sheinbaum 's transition team. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions or need to clarify concerns.
