METLEN achieves a significant milestone in LATAM with the completion of two solar projects in the Chilean portfolio

By Metlen

Santiago, December 10.- METLEN Energy & Metals has achieved a significant milestone with the completion of two new projects: Tocopilla (227 MW) and Tamarico (167 MW), thus reaching 588 MW of renewable energy production in its Chilean portfolio.

The Tocopilla and Tamarico solar parks, inaugurated in the presence of national and local authorities of Chile, are part of a portfolio with a total investment of 460 million dollars. Specifically, the portfolio includes the Willka solar park (109.2 MW), inaugurated in December 2023, and the Doña Antonia park (86 MW), which came into operation in August 2024.

These projects are designed to provide clean and 100% renewable energy to Enel Chile, based on a power purchase agreement (PPA). It is also noted that battery energy storage facilities (BESS) will be added to each station by 2025. In addition, these projects are expected to meet the annual energy consumption of more than 700,000 homes, while avoiding the emission of more than 650,000 tons of CO2 each year.

“This week has been very important for METLEN, since with the inauguration of the Tocopilla and Tamarico Solar Parks we were able to successfully complete the portfolio of our own projects in Chile. We hope that this milestone will be a contribution to the sustainable development of the country and will contribute to the growth of the company in Latin America,” said the country manager of METLEN Latam, Juan Pablo Toledo Torres.

METLEN has been present in Chile for more than 7 years, and continues to strengthen its presence in Latin America. In addition to this portfolio, the company has built more than 600 MW of solar projects for important partners such as Enel, Mainstream, Atlas, Sonnedix and EnfraGen.
