Mexico City launches trolleybus tender
Mexico City launched a tender for the acquisition of 86 to 100 trolleybuses to replace old units and run on the new line that connects to Mexico state.
According to the tender, published in the official gazette on Monday, the electrical transport services authority wants to buy 12m units. The tender details can be obtained at the agency’s Iztapalapa office for 25,000 pesos (US$1,240), starting Wednesday.
A clarification meeting is penciled in for May 13 at 11:00. The presentation of proposals is planned for May 20 at 11:00 and the winner will be announced on May 27.
A delivery date has not been mentioned, but the trolleybuses must arrive at the authority’s general workshop.
Work on a 7.4km elevated trolleybus line in Iztapalapa municipality with 10 stations is underway. It is expected to link to the 1917 Constitución and Santa Martha metro stations and reach Mixcoac.
