Mexico invites 4 to bid for Cancún road program studies
Mexico invited Infraestructura Likida, Grupo Constructor Actum, Centro de Análisis de Programas y Evaluación de Proyectos and Nacional de Obra y Diseño to participate in a tender for three studies for four road projects in Cancún that total 7.2bn pesos (US$356mn).
Although the projects are already underway, the infrastructure, communications and transportation ministry (SICT) will receive bids for the socioeconomic study, cost-benefit analysis and expert opinion on May 15, according to records on procurement site Compranet.
The projects involve the 1.1bn-peso modernization of the Luis Donaldo Colosio boulevard, the 360mn-peso modernization of the junction to Cancún airport, the new 238mn-peso Chac Mool avenue and the 5.58bn-peso Nichupté bridge (pictured as render).
Providing an update earlier this week, infrastructure, communications and transportation minister Jorge Nuño Lara said the bridge is 16% complete, the boulevard 58%, the junction 48% and the new avenue 7%. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador vowed to inaugurate all four by year-end.
The studies should start on May 22 and conclude on September 18.
