Mexico’s Sheinbaum to start one major infra or water project per state in 2025

Mexico’s president-elect Claudia Sheinbaum promised to start one major infrastructure or water project per state in 2025.

In a meeting with governors, Sheinbaum said she will prioritize water projects based on needs and funding.

“There will be at least one project, at least one priority project per state and for Mexico City. We are very interested in the water issue which many governors are concerned about,” daily Reforma quoted her as saying.

“Everything is linked to the budget. It would be really easy to say: we are going to carry out all the projects, but we have to define and program for each area,” she added.

Sheinbaum promised to work with local authorities regardless of political affiliations to create the project list, which will be revealed on October 1, when she is due to take office.
