The Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM), in its capacity as Administrator of the Energy Social Inclusion Fund (FISE), ratified its commitment to the widespread use of natural gas, and is therefore optimizing the Bonogas program, providing Peruvians with affordable and environmentally friendly energy options.

FISE has a budget of more than S/ 7.5 million for the construction of internal natural gas facilities in different hospitals nationwide, with the goal of connecting 12 hospitals in the regions of Metropolitan Lima, Ancash and Piura by 2025.

Last year, the MINEM implemented the natural gas system in the Regional Teaching Hospitals of Trujillo, Sergio Bernales and San Juan de Lurigancho, culminating with the corresponding installation in the Daniel Alcides Carrión Hospital in Callao at the beginning of this year.

FISE has been evaluating the installation of natural gas supplies in other hospitals in Peru, with the aim of expanding this benefit to more localities, improving the conditions of health services in the country, optimizing resources and strengthening the hospital's capacity to provide care.

It is worth mentioning that the MINEM signed 10 agreements for the free installation of natural gas in different hospitals in Peru, having completed works in four of them and is already preparing to inaugurate the service in the San Juan de Dios hospital in Pisco, Santa Maria del Socorro in Ica and Regional Hospital in Ica.

To date, three hospitals are in the final stages of the bidding process; Ventanilla Hospital, Eleazar Guzmán Barrón in Chimbote and Victor Ramos Guardia in Huaraz, institutions that will be able to replace the consumption of diesel, industrial petroleum and/or LPG with the use of natural gas, saving approximately 56% in energy costs.

It is important to mention that, with the improvement of the Bonogas program, the MINEM is serving hospitals in the regions of Lima (2), Callao (2), Trujillo (1), Ica (3) and Ancash (2), with a view to expanding this benefit to even more Peruvians, aware that each connection represents an opportunity to improve the quality of life of the population.
