MINEM installs executive coordination meetings for the sustainable development of Hydrocarbons in the country

The Vice Minister of Hydrocarbons of the MINEM, Iris Cárdenas, set up executive coordination meetings between the private sector Hydrocarbons unions and public institutions, taking into account the relevance of future fuels in our energy matrix.

The participants supported and congratulated the MINEM initiative, for working in an articulated manner, in order to improve Peru's energy system.

Cárdenas Pino maintained that hydrocarbons represent more than 75% of final primary energy consumption, as well as 60% of secondary energy, with the transportation sector being the one with the highest energy demand with 43% of final consumption, with diversification being of vital importance. of the energy matrix, allowing the national demand to be met.

There are 5 coordination groups established by the MINEM, which seek, based on a common agenda, to propose alternative solutions to energize the sector. The topics to be discussed will be: exploration and production, processing and ONP, marketing, NG pipelines and environmental and social.

At the end of the installation, the first executive coordination meeting was held, chaired by the general director of Hydrocarbons of the MINEM, Jorge Arnao, articulating efforts to strengthen hydrocarbon activities and, eventually, facilitate greater investments in the subsector.
