MINEM provides facilities so that more families can access natural gas

This Minem release was published using machine translation.
The Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) established a new support mechanism for more families who want to access natural gas, and to this end it has provided facilities to identify the socioeconomic stratification of the block where their homes are located; process that will allow access to state financing to have energy at a lower cost.
According to the regulations of the sector, for a home to access natural gas, the strata of its block must be identified by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI); For this reason, the MINEM approved Ministerial Resolution No. 352-2023-MINEM/DM to facilitate said procedure in areas where it has not yet been completed.
The identification of the stratum will allow more families to access natural gas; in addition to having the possibility of benefiting from natural gas promotion mechanisms, including the BonoGas Program of the Energy Social Inclusion Fund (FISE), which provides financing for the internal connection of the facility.
In this context, if there is no information on any of the blocks in an area where the construction of natural gas distribution networks will be carried out, these blocks may be assigned the predominant stratum within a radius of 500 meters. around.
And, in the event that this measure cannot be applied, the MINEM may determine the stratum of the blocks using a methodology similar to that of the INEI, a measure that will remain in force until said organization completes the socioeconomic analysis of the aforementioned blocks as result of updating your plans.
Additionally, the standard indicates that the benefits of BonoGas, which finances the connection to natural gas in homes, SMEs, social support premises, will be applicable to residential consumers of all socioeconomic levels in the regions of Apurímac, Ayacucho, Cusco, Huancavelica , Junín, Puno and Ucayali.
This measure seeks to achieve the greatest social impact in the areas where the future natural gas massification projects announced by the government will be developed in the central, southern and eastern regions of the country.
In this way, the MINEM ratifies its commitment to achieving universal access to energy and making natural gas available to more Peruvians, an economic resource, friendly to health and the environment, which will contribute to the economic transformation of the country as Its use spreads more in Lima and the interior of the country.
