The Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) signed the concession contract for 5 electrical projects, which represent an estimated investment of US$ 441 million and will benefit more than 4 million Peruvians in the regions of Ayacucho, Ica and Lima.
The Vice Minister of Electricity, Víctor Carlos, highlighted the importance of these projects, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening the national electricity system.
"These initiatives represent a significant step forward in strengthening the regional and national electrical system, improving its capacity to respond to current and future demands," he added.
The five projects put out to tender were: “Chilca CTM-Carabayllo 500 kV Transmission Line - Third Circuit”; “New Bicentennial 500/220 kV Substation” and “Reconfiguration of the Chavarría – Santa Rosa – Carapongo 220 kV Link”.
Likewise, the projects “New 220 kV Muyurina Substation, New Ayacucho Substation, 220 kV Muyurina-Ayacucho LT”; and “Expansion of Supply Capacity of the Ica Electric System (ITC Project)”.
These projects are part of Group 2 of the 18 electrical projects that the MINEM commissioned to Proinversión at the beginning of this year, and which are part of the 2023-2032 Transmission Plan.
Vice Minister Víctor Carlos mentioned that these projects will contribute to increasing the capacity of transformation and transmission of electricity, ensuring a reliable and efficient supply.
“The development of electric transmission infrastructure not only has a technical impact, but is also a driver of social and environmental transformation,” he added.
In turn, the executive director of PROINVERSIÓN, José Salardi, highlighted the signing of this contract because it represents a crucial step for the prompt implementation of projects that will strengthen the supply of electric energy.
