The corporate general manager of Minera Apumayo, Guillermo Shinno, stated that the company is willing to incorporate partners in its copper projects. He announced this in an exclusive interview with the program Diálogos Mineros, of the Institute of Mining Engineers of Peru (IIMP).
He said that, although the company is focused on finding disseminated gold, during the course of its explorations it found copper deposits. “And those types of concessions that apparently contain other minerals, we are open to other types of companies that are dedicated to the exploitation of copper being interested in being able to enter into a partnership with us, where they would lead. They would manage the entire project, but we are open to those possibilities,” he said.
Based on this premise, he revealed that there are a couple of copper concessions that have attracted the interest of top-level companies. “We have signed a confidentiality agreement. They have already reviewed all the information in the data room. And there is a company that has shown greater interest in continuing to advance in the next stages of this possible association that could exist,” he explained.
He also explained that the companies are interested in two copper projects located in Apurímac. It is expected that there will be news over the course of the next year.
It is worth noting that, according to Guillermo Shinno, Minera Apumayo has six exploration projects in Peru, located in Ayacucho, Moquegua and Cusco. “There are six (exploration) projects on which we are focused due to the expertise we have from the projects we have worked on. We are looking for disseminated gold oxides that are worked in an open pit and processed by leaching,” he concluded.
