The Madrid 2024 Summit was organized by the Center for Studies for the Development of Telecommunications and Access to the Information Society of Latin America – CERTAL.
At this meeting, topics such as: prospective analysis of the telecommunications sector as a promoter of sustainability, exchange of knowledge, experiences and best public-private practices in the field of telecommunications and digital transformation, cybersecurity and piracy, telecommunications infrastructure were addressed. as the basis of the ecosystem for digital transformation, economic competitiveness and social well-being, Artificial Intelligence and regulatory issues.
At MWC Barcelona 2024, the largest mobile technology fair in the world was held. More than 73 Ministers related to planet technologies attended this event, where topics such as 5G, Artificial Intelligence and sustainable solutions were addressed.
Minister Martín and the Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Telecommunications Commission of the OAS, Oscar León, analyzed the state of telecommunications in the region; as well as spoke with the Ibero-American Secretary General, Andrés Allamand, with whom he agreed on key actions to strengthen cybersecurity in the region and generate bilateral alliances. An important step to promote projects that benefit the citizens of Ecuador.
In addition, the head of MINTEL met with the president of LALIGA, Javier Tebas, to learn directly about LALIGA Content Protection “Fight against live piracy”; as well as the different projects that are being carried out in this organization and the way to develop them, to embrace these good practices for Ecuador, in the protection of intellectual property rights.
He also held working meetings with representatives of international organizations and companies in the telecommunications sector, such as: Center for Telecommunications Studies of Latin America (ASIET), Hispasat, Hughes, América Móvil, Telefónica, among others, spaces where he ratified the opening of the Government of President Daniel Noboa Azín for private investment, which will contribute to the generation of employment, digital development of the country and therefore to the reduction of the digital divide.
As there is constant improvement in the attention to migrants in the services offered by the Civil Registry, the Secretary of State met with the Ambassador of Ecuador in Spain, Wilma Andrade, as part of the commitment to provide agile and timely attention to Ecuadorians. abroad.
