UCOM MHE 07-08-2024.- The Minister of Hydrocarbons and Energy, Franklin Molina, highlighted the importance of the meeting with his counterpart from Mines and Energy of Brazil, Alexandre Silveira, in which several projects aimed at expanding cooperation were evaluated in the energy field, hydrocarbons, biofuels, biotechnology and fertilizer trade, among others.

“I believe that we are at the right time to activate the projects and take advantage of all the current opportunities and challenges (…) The development will be consolidated from the work tables and techniques that are being implemented and these will be fundamental,” stated the authority in the meeting that took place in the city of Santa Cruz.

Molina explained that, now that the hydrocarbon sector has been incorporated, “we believe that this will help us unblock some issues that have been hindering us for a long time. This is very useful, not only for post-covenants, but also for ordering them. There are important plants that we believe can be implemented quickly,” the authority added.

The authority reported that the technical studies of a second urea plant on the border, in Corumbá, opposite Puerto Suárez, have been completed. “We are doing our job and we believe that it is important to send signals to the region, in Brazil and Bolivia, that when there is political will, things can move forward,” he said.

Molina thanked the political will of the Brazilian Government authorities at this very complex time in the world. “As President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said, if we look within the region, there is the solution to all our problems. With the resources, capabilities and everything that exists, we can repower the projects quickly,” he said.

The president of the Federative Republic of Brazil will arrive this Monday night in the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra to meet with the president of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Luis Alberto Arce, to fulfill a broad bilateral agenda.
