More than 8,800 large subscribers will be audited in High Consumer Audit operations
This Enee release was published using machine translation.
In Honduras there are 8,827 large consumers with average monthly consumption that exceeds 4000 KW/h, which represents almost 46% of the energy consumed in the country and presents losses.
With the support of prosecutors from the Public Ministry, elements of the army and agents from the Police Investigation Directorate (DPI), the crews of the National Electric Energy Company (ENEE) began Audit operations for High Consumers, with the objective of identifying anomalies and irregularities and report them to the prosecutor's office for fraudulent energy theft to the detriment of the State.
Large consumers who are authenticated by us as paying for what they consume will be issued a certificate of compliance and those found to have committed fraudulent theft will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
The actions began this day in the industrial city San Pedro Sula, department of Cortés, with special measure crews throughout the area; At the 2:00 pm cutoff, 43 high consumers had already been audited, identifying 4 with anomalies and irregularities that are in the process of investigation, of a total of 317 clients that will be audited during the first phase in a period of 11 to 15 days. .
“We are clear that large consumers who can pay for energy and are not doing so are going to take forceful, strong actions on the part of the State and institutions to exercise criminal action against energy theft,” said general manager Erick Tejada.
The operation is part of the comprehensive strategies of the ENEE and the National Loss Reduction Program (PNRP) to identify high consumers who are stealing energy, document the cases and present them to the Public Ministry, if the existence of crimes is determined. .
We continue in the process of rescuing the public company with forceful actions aimed at cleaning up the finances of the state electricity company, the heritage of Hondurans.
