This is a machine translation of the press release originally published in Portuguese.

Statkraft, one of the largest generators of renewable energy in Europe and a leader in hydroelectric energy, has completed the assembly of the wind turbines for the Morro do Cruzeiro wind farm, located in the municipalities of Uibaí and Ibipeba, in the interior of Bahia. Afterwards, the procedures for entry into operation will begin.

According to Samuel Thomae, Project Manager at Statkraft, the completion of this phase represents overcoming a challenge for the assembly team. “The incidence of winds, despite being essential for the generation of wind energy, was an important factor overcome during assembly. “With the safety of our team coming first, we had to evaluate, within the wind windows, the best conditions for assembly. All of this contributed to us now feeling like a job very well done”, he highlighted.

Still in 2024, the company will start a hybrid project in this same project, with the inclusion of solar generation, through the implementation of the Morro do Cruzeiro Solar complex. Entirely developed “in-house”, the project brings as an innovation the use of batteries, with BESS technology, which uses the same connection point as wind and solar. Construction of the hybrid project in Morro do Cruzeiro began at the end of May, with the mobilization of the construction site and expected completion is August 2025.

About Morro do Cruzeiro

Morro do Cruzeiro is a greenfield wind project and is an expansion of the Brotas de Macaúbas Wind Complex, a Statkraft asset in operation, located in Bahia. The expansion will consist of 14 turbines and an installed capacity of 79.8 MW. Given the excellent wind conditions in the region, the project will generate 386 GWh of renewable energy per year, enough to supply more than 190,000 homes.

Also located in Bahia, the company recently inaugurated the Ventos de Santa Eugênia Wind Complex, considered the Group's largest wind farm outside Europe, with a comprehensive area of 489.18 hectares, where the 14 wind farms are located, totaling 91 wind turbines with 5.7 megawatts of power each. Renewable energy production should reach 2,300 Gigawatt-hours (GWh) per year, enough to supply 1.17 million Brazilian homes.

About Statkraft

With more than 6,000 employees in more than 20 countries, Statkraft is one of the leaders in hydropower internationally and the largest generator of renewable energy in Europe.

Currently, it is one of the largest generators of wind energy in Brazil, surpassing the 2.2 GW mark of installed capacity, between constructions and operations.
