The constitutional president Luis Arce Catacora, together with the Minister of Public Works, Services and Housing , Edgar Montaño, national authorities and those of the Republic of Peru, mayors, representatives of the Tupac Katari and Bartolina Sisa peasant federation, as well as other sectors, participated in the acts of the beginning of construction of the Nazacara – Hito IV Highway , Section III: Santiago de Machaca – Hito IV, where the national government is investing Bs 304,059,624.55.

The construction of the project that will benefit more than 42 thousand inhabitants of the region and the awarded company Asociación Accidental Santiago – Hito IV have a deadline of one year and five months to deliver this road so desired by the population since previous administrations.

“Due to poor management by the de facto government in 2020, there was no progress on this road. Today, thanks to the ABC , which has done everything to make progress, we can start the work. The construction company is here with all its machinery,” President Arce mentioned at the events.

The Nazacara Hito IV highway is part of the fundamental road network N°043 and will connect the towns of Catacora, Thola Kollo and Chispa until reaching the border point with the sister Republic of Peru, also joining the bioceanic corridor between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

The works to be developed in this project include: two lanes with a length of 51.35 km, asphalt concrete with a roadway width of 7.30 m, a berm width of 1.50 m on each side, a drainage system, road signs, complementary and environmental mitigation works, construction of toll and weigh stations, control systems and road safety devices.

In addition, President Arce stressed the importance of working in the regions near the municipality of Catacora to turn them into a border access point between Bolivia and Peru and thus strengthen the national sovereignty of our territory.
