Neuquén and Shell review security in Sierras Blancas after shooting
This press release from Neuquén's provincial government was translated automatically.
The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the province of Neuquén, Alejandro Monteiro, along with the president of the Shell Company, Sean Rooney, toured the site of the company in Sierras Blancas this afternoon, an opportunity in which he guaranteed "the continuity of operations in a safe way", after the events that took place last week in the place.
The authorities met with the staff of the company, an opportunity in which they heard the impressions on the incidents. The minister said that "it is the will of the provincial government, to ensure the social pact and the good coexistence among the actors that make the development of Vaca Muerta. In this line, "he pointed out," we have worked together with the company to guarantee the necessary conditions for resuming activities under a safe and reliable environment. These incidents can not happen again."
At this point he reported and highlighted the actions that the Public Prosecutor's Office has indicated, such as the Justice and Police of the province. Finally, he urged the different sectors -powers of the state and companies- to work on improving day by day the actions that correspond to each one to generate the conditions that guarantee good results in the development of Vaca Muerta.
The company is working together with the contractors of the area in the management of the situation and the recovery of the personnel, and will resume its normal activities in a gradual manner, under the security provided by the province of Neuquén and attending to the evolution of the personnel directly affected or indirectly.
"The safety and care of workers and contractors is an essential aspect of our operations. I thank the province for the support they have given to return to work safely and reliably," said Sean Rooney.
