New delay for Bolivia green hydrogen consultancy tender

Bnamericas

Bolivia’s state hydrocarbons company YPFB once again cancelled bidding to study the potential development of green hydrogen, ammonia and methanol plants.

“The requesting unit [YPFB], after having analyzed the terms of reference for the consultancy, sees it advisable to modify the scope of the consultancy in order to reduce execution time and total project cost,” company information shows.

Additional details were not disclosed.

BNamericas previously reported that Asociación Accidental Hidrogeno Verde Chaco Energías y Applus+, Bolivia Petróleo y Gas Consultores y Servicios, and Egaflow H2V submitted offers for the 240-day contract.

The winner will look at the availability of raw materials, determining plant locations, drafting a market study for the plants’ products and subproducts, and drafting technical specifications for subsequent stages, among other tasks.

The work will also identify optimum sites near renewable energy systems or evaluate the feasibility of connecting to the national power grid.
