New Energy Transition Law: CNE detailed the main aspects of the regulatory resolutions for the electricity industry

The National Energy Commission (CNE) actively participated in the Presentation Day of Law No. 21,721, better known as the Energy Transition Law enacted on December 20, 2024, organized by the Ministry of Energy in the offices of the National Electric Coordinator, whose objective was to publicize the main modifications in matters of electrical transmission that are incorporated into the General Law of Electrical Services and the work carried out by the institutions around the regulatory resolutions imposed by this new regulation, which are in the public consultation stage.
The Commission was represented by the Head of the Electrical Department, Danilo Zurita, who welcomed the attendees, among whom were the main transmitters of the system.
Presentations
Later, Rodrigo Quezada, a professional from the Commission's Legal Department, spoke about the content and scope of the Regulatory Resolution corresponding to the tendering of transmission works by the owners, specifying its objectives, the procedure and the deadlines to carry out this process.
For his part, Alonso Arriagada, Head of the Projects and Network Access Subdepartment, commented on the necessary and urgent works, a resolution that is being prepared, where he outlined how the procedure for its application is being addressed considering the restrictions established in the Law.
Finally, Paulina Muñoz, Head of Infrastructure Management of the Electrical Department, detailed the procedure surrounding the mechanism for reviewing the Awarded Investment Value (VI), revealing the main aspects of the new Law, as well as the requirements and restrictions for its application.
