Bnamericas
New investments have boosted the water supply for the Cuban port city of Cienfuegos, Diario Granma reported. Facilities include the Paso Bonito drinking water plant and pumping equipment, boosting capacity to 900 l/s from the current 780 l/s and allowing for 24-hour service. The previous pumps had served for 27 years. Waterworks services are the responsibility of Empresa Provincial de Acueductos y Alcantarillados company of Cienfuegos province. Cienfuegos, on Cuba's southern coast, has some 140,000 inhabitants. It is a key export point for tobacco and sugar products, and a popular tourist city.
