Zacatecas, Mexico, November 14, 2024.- Newmont Peñasquito confirms the recovery of 9 of the 11 gondolas, owned by the company's contractors, which were stolen on the Zacatecas-Saltillo highway on October 31 during a routine transfer of the mine to the port of destination.

However, the cargo of concentrate has not yet been recovered. Newmont previously filed a complaint with the authorities for the theft of 285 tons of raw minerals (concentrate), with an estimated value of three million dollars ($3 million), which were transported in said gondolas.

We acknowledge the prompt intervention and support of local and federal authorities during the incident, the investigation and the location of the containers in the state of Durango by the National Guard.

We also trust in the coordination of authorities at all levels of government to safeguard the security of the companies we operate in Mexico. In line with the company's values, we reiterate that we will continue to collaborate transparently with the authorities by providing the information requested, prioritizing the safety of people and avoiding any escalation of violence.
