Nicaragua will execute more than 500 electrification projects in 2020

Nicaragua will continue to execute the National Program for Sustainable Electrification and Renewable Energy (Pneser) promoted by the Sandinista Government to increase electricity coverage and end this 2020 with 98.42 percent.
Enatrel's executive president, Salvador Mansell, announced the institution's plans and goals, which include the continuity of 12 programs with an investment of $ 348.4 million.
These programs include renewable energy generation, electrical transmission, rural electrification, electrification and solar panels, settlement standardization, energy efficiency program, public lighting, obsolete network rehabilitation, broadband installation program and renewable generation studies.

More than 500 projects
To reach the new coverage goal, Mansell explained that they will execute 512 electrification projects in equal numbers of communities and / or settlements.
Since the Sandinista government executes the PNSER , more than 633 thousand homes have been electrified to benefit 3.4 million Nicaraguans and thanks to this, 54 to 97.16 percent coverage has been passed.
Mansell also stressed that this year the project for the electrification and installation of 4 thousand solar panels in health centers, schools, public institutions and homes located in rural communities will begin.
Wind power
Likewise, the installation of some 30,000 public luminaries will continue, the design of 5 wind energy projects that are contemplated for Managua, Jinotega and Matagalpa.

150 million dollars will be invested in the maintenance and construction program of electrical substations and transmission lines.
Enatrel's investment program for the 2019-2023 period includes 1 thousand 171 million dollars, of which 233.7 were invested last year, this year 348.4 million, in 2021 261 million is contemplated, in 2022 163.4 million will be invested and It closes in 2023 with 166.3 million dollars.
