Noranda holds 7.3% of Metallica

Toronto-based junior Metallica Resources (TSX: MR, Amex: MRB) reported Tuesday that Canadian mining and metals company Noranda (TSX, NYSE: NRD) holds 6 million Metallica shares, representing 7.3% of outstanding common stock. Metallica holds the Cerro San Pedro gold project in Mexico and the El Morro copper-gold project in Chile. Noranda has an option to earn 70% of El Morro, where a drill program is currently underway.
