Nov. demand rises 8.05% yr-on-yr

November demand in Argentina's wholesale power market (MEM) increased 8.05% to 6,453GWh compared to the same month last year, according to figures from the country's wholesale power market administrator Cammesa. Demand decreased 0.94% from October this year. November generation increased 6.08% to 6,772GWh from November 2002, and decreased 1.87% from October 2003. Thermoelectric generation increased 166% to 3,500GWh compared to the same month last year, hydro generation decreased 42.9% to 2,570Wh in the same period, and nuclear generation increased 34.2% to 577GWh. Power exports were 58GWh in November, compared to zero in the same month 2002. The MEM covers 92% of Argentina's total market.
