Number verification: the new Telecom API to secure digital transactions

Buenos Aires, July 23, 2024.- One year after joining the global Open Gateway initiative, Telecom launches the second API (application programmable interface) to continue contributing to the value proposition of digital security and anti-fraud, the first vertical that the company decided to develop within the framework of the standards established by CAMARA, the open source project promoted by the Linux Foundation in collaboration with GSMA.

This is the new Number Verification solution that allows developers to generate simple, secure and transparent validation of mobile identity. Its functionalities include achieving a better experience when on boarding an APP; and the reset of access to a site or platform with an encrypted and frictionless process for clients, eliminating the need to send keys by other means. Thus, this API seeks to add value to the digital ecosystem of the Fintech industry.

This is the second API that Telecom makes available to developers and aggregators to continue promoting the development of the digital ecosystem. In the second half of 2023, the company launched SIM SWAP, an application that allows you to verify the last time a SIM card associated with a mobile number changed, providing a high level of security to transactions carried out using mobile devices.

To Number Verification and SIM Swap, Telecom plans to add, in the coming weeks, two other APIs that complete this suite of services related to digital security. The next releases will be Device Status and Device Location, two APIs that allow generating georeferenced digital validations.

It is important to remember that Telecom announced in April an alliance with Intraway through which a joint digital company is being launched that will focus on the creation of a cloud-native software solution for communications service providers (CSPs). ) of Latin America can accelerate the exposure and monetization of their networks in a secure and scalable manner, within the framework of current and future components and functionalities. The new Telecom APIs are already being designed and supported in the solution developed jointly between Telecom and Intraway.
