Oil and gas to attract US$60bn in next 5 yrs

Investments in Brazil's oil and gas industries should come to US$60bn in the next 4-5 years, including investments by federal energy company Petrobras, local press quoted the mines and energy ministry's oil and gas secretary Maria das Graças Foster as saying. The investment will help Brazil become self-sufficient in oil by 2006, local press reported. Petrobras has recently announced plans to invest US$7.7bn a year through 2010.
