One group in the running for Dominican Rep hydrocarbons seismic work
Two companies submitted offers in the Dominican Republic government’s call to further define seismic data of offshore oil and natural gas resources.
The bidders were Digital Liquid Agency and RPS Group, with the latter fulfilling tender requirements, according to the energy and mines ministry. Awarding is expected this month.
The contract entails structuring a 2D seismic acquisition, processing and interpretation campaign.
The winner will also support the ministry in drafting the reference terms and multiclient contract, and supervise execution, among other tasks.
Houston-based APA held an offshore exploration block in the San Pedro de Macorís basin, but suspended exploration in December and relinquished the acreage, a company filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission shows.
APA, which held 630,000 net undeveloped acres in the area, did not disclose a reason for returning the block.
