ON*Net Fibra improves its internal management processes thanks to Rise with SAP

Santiago, October 16, 2024.- The fiber optic provider company, ON*NETFIBRA, managed to improve its internal processes and accelerate its payment management to suppliers thanks to the SAP S/4HANA solution. The company, which since 2021 has been deploying the first wholesale network of open and neutral fiber optic infrastructure in the country, has more than 300 internal and external collaborators, who are in charge of managing a network that has 4.3 million homes with access to fiber optics and more than 42 thousand kilometers of network throughout the 16 regions of Chile.

From the beginning, the company sought to maintain a balance between flexibility and agility to adapt to a changing environment, without sacrificing the traceability necessary to monitor internal activities. “After evaluating several options, we decided on SAP, since it offers the ability to adapt to the processes we established as a base tool, in addition to the ability to integrate with different platforms and tools that help facilitate daily management in a private cloud,” says Claudio Díaz, ERP Project Manager at ON*NETFIBRA.

For the implementation, they opted for the S/4HANA version in RISE mode, for which the knowledge of their key users and partners, who had already had the SAP experience, was essential. “The improvements were immediately noticeable, we moved to a much more user-friendly interface where the transactions carried out are simpler, of course, without losing the traceability of an ERP, this also impacts the training times of the user team,” says Díaz. In addition, the head of the company's ERP Project assures that they have improved the times in their business processes, such as the improvement of payment to suppliers, thanks to the recommendations of the “best practices” shared by the SAP team.

In this way, in just one month, ON*NETFIBRA optimized its internal processes, achieving the desired results in the second month of implementation. The firm mainly appeals to the scalability of the tool to be able to incorporate different company processes. This was the item that most influenced the choice of SAP.
