On February 17, 2025, Origem Energia Infraestrutura Portuária, a company of the Origem Energia Group, took over the management of the Maceió Waterway Terminal (TAMAC) MAC11A, an area located within the Port of Maceió (AL) intended for the movement and storage of liquid bulk, especially fuels and oil. The asset represents an important milestone, in line with the strategic positioning of Origem Energia, an economic group that offers integrated energy solutions. This new business frontier comes three years after the acquisition of the Alagoas Hub.

According to Origem Energia's CEO, Luiz Felipe Coutinho, by assuming control of TAMAC's operations, the Company ensures its independence in the flow and commercialization of its production, strengthens its presence in the Alagoas market, promoting local competitiveness that can impact the supply of more affordable fuels for the population.

"The inclusion of MAC11A in the portfolio is a strategic milestone for Origem Energia, reinforcing our energy integration and expanding commercial flexibility in the negotiation and shipment of oil. In addition to strengthening our position in the market, this achievement diversifies our revenues and opens new opportunities for monetization in the storage infrastructure."

By taking over the terminal's activities, Origem Energia gains commercial flexibility to negotiate oil volumes and proactively optimize cargo shipping schedules. In addition to loading and unloading operations by sea, the terminal also enables road transportation, mainly serving ethanol, marine diesel oil, gasoline and other biofuels, such as biodiesel.

Origem Energia is also diversifying its revenue by exploring opportunities to monetize its oil derivatives storage capacity with a wider range of customers. “Oil logistics and storage are strategic pillars of our operations. Taking control of these activities allows us to overcome our dependence on third parties, reducing costs, increasing autonomy and further integrating our value chain. This initiative strengthens our position as a highly efficient and integrated company in the sector,” adds Coutinho.
