Over 20 firms interested in US$50mn Panama highway contract
A US$53mn project to widen and improve the Santiago-San Francisco-Santa Fe highway in Veraguas province, Panama, has attracted more than 20 local and international companies.
A record of a meeting for tender 2023-0-09-0-09-LV-008582, showed that 26 representatives of different companies attended, including executives from Ininfra, Constructora Rodsa, Grupo Diepsa, Prodemex, IPC Panamá, Conansa, Constructora Meco, Grupo Cusa, Transeq Infraestructura and Grupo Puentes, among others.
The works involve widening 53.7km of the highway to four lanes from the current two and will take two and a half years, according to local daily La Estrella de Panamá.
The contract to be tendered includes the studies, design and construction works.
Proposals must be submitted to the public works ministry (MOP) is scheduled by July 25 in electronic form.
