
Panama seeks contractor for US$23mn power transmission work

Panama’s state power transmission company Etesa launched bidding to reinforce dispatch in Colón province.
The work entails the installation and startup of civil works for the 230kV Sabanitas-Santa Rita line, the 230kV Santa Rita substation and expansion of the 230kV Sabanitas substation. The reference budget is US$23mn.
Offers for the 662-day contract are due October 10, according to procurement information.

Also from Central America, power interconnection commission CRIE approved a modification to the methodology for calculating consumer surplus, consultation for which began in July.
In addition, CRIE authorized Nicaragua’s state power transmission company Enatrel to connect the following projects to the regional transmission network (RTR): 230kV San Benito-Terrabona line, expansion of the San Benito and Terrabona substations, and 138kV substations Central and Sébaco II.
For its part, Honduras’ state power company Enee secured CRIE temporary approval to connect the project to add a 230/138/13.8kV, 150 MVA third transformer at the Progreso substation to the RTR.
