Panama to finish construction of Almirante hospital this month

Construction of the new Almirante hospital in Panama’s Bocas del Toro province will finish at the end of this month.

The US$41.5mn turnkey project to replace the existing Almirante hospital will be delivered on July 31, the country’s social security authority (CSS) said in a press release.

CSS is overseeing the project and the contractor is Riga Services.

Construction progress is now at 85%, with furniture and equipment being installed, said CSS. Electric power and water treatment tests will follow next, it added.

The project includes three main buildings, a perimetral fence and internal roads.

The hospital will serve the communities of the Almirante district and the Bocas del Toro archipelago.
