Paraguay launches Alto Paraná roadworks tender

Paraguay’s public works ministry (MOPC) launched a 432bn-guaraní (US$62mn) tender to pave a 60.3km stretch of route PY21 in Alto Paraná department.

The project, which is financed through a loan from Latin American development CAF that is awaiting approval from the senate, is divided into two contracts, MOPC said in a release.

Lot 1 has a 213bn-guaraní budget and involves 27km, while lot 2 has a 219bn-guaraní price tag and entails works on 33.3km, documents show.

The overall project aims to improve the section between route PY21’s intersection with route PY7 and the town of Puerto Indio, near the border with Brazil.

Bids will be opened on April 18. Documents can be seen here (in Spanish).
