Paraguay to bring environmental regulations under single framework
Paraguay’s environment ministry (MADES) began drafting a single environmental code to bring all related legislation under a single framework.
Minister Ariel Oviedo said the process will review all laws, decrees and resolutions related to environmental issues and turn them into a “single, efficient, effective and strong mechanism,” according to a press release.
Oviedo added that a single environmental code will prevent “legislative contamination, which often blocks the enforcement of norms, even if they are created with good intentions.”
The drafting process will involve “all sectors in a participative manner so they can make their contributions and/or suggestions regarding existing environmental laws and their application,” the release states.
