Paraiso-El Tinto prequal. decision by end-November

Details of prequalifying companies for the Paraiso-El Tinto highway development project are to be announced by month-end, an official from SNC, Bolivia's national highway service told BNamericas. Seventeen groups have submitted technical bids to SNC to pre-qualify for the US$65mn contract. The official said selected companies will be invited to submit economic bids for work on the 124km stretch of road, with a final decision expected in January. Work is scheduled to start in April. Bids were received from international and national groups including Corporacion MYS Internacional, Hidalgo e Hidalgo, Odebrecht, OHL-Incotec, Mota-Trans, ARG, Contreras Hnos and Ferrovial-Agroman Chile. The project is part of the US$450mn, 640km Puerto Suarez-Santa Cruz highway project.
