Paraná state issues US$70mn tender for Curitiba road
The Paraná state government issued a notice for a contract to build a new road corridor that involves estimated investments of 394 million reais (US$73mn).
The road will be 9.5km long and will be constructed in the metropolitan area of state capital Curitiba.
"Curitiba will gain a new road corridor that will connect road BR-116, in the south of the capital, close to Fazenda Rio Grande, to road BR-476 in Araucária, which also provides access to the interior of the state via BR-277," the government said in a statement.
"The notice for the tender to determine the company responsible for carrying out the project was authorized on Friday and outlines an investment of up to 394mn reais, with an estimated completion time of 30 months after the service order is signed," it added.
According to the government, the road will be a dual-lane highway and the paving will be done using concrete with the whitetopping technique, already used on other state highways, to ensure greater durability and less need for maintenance.
