Paraná state launches road work tenders worth nearly US$100mn

Brazil’s Paraná state launched tenders to widen two highways, which will demand combined investments of at least 529 million reais (US$95mn).

One of the tenders is for widening 27km of the PRC-466 highway, between the Palmeirinha and Turvo municipalities.

The required investment for the works is 329mn reais, the state government said in a statement.

Bids will be opened on August 29 via the federal government's purchasing portal. 

After signing the contract and issuing the work order, there will be an execution period of 720 days.

Meanwhile, the state’s highways department (DER/PR) published the tender notice for widening 12.8km of the PR-412 highway, between Guaratuba and the border with Santa Catarina state.

The winner of the contract will be responsible for preparing the executive engineering project and performing the works.

The state government did not provide the exact figure for the required investment but said it exceeds 200mn reais.

The opening of bids is scheduled for October 17, also on the purchasing portal of the federal government. 

The duration of the contract is 900 days, with the first 12 months for studies and preparing the overall project, as well as obtaining an environmental license.
