Paraná state launches study tender notice for roads project

Brazil’s Paraná state launched a tender notice to contract studies for a project involving 151km of new roads in the state’s coastal region.

The studies’ estimated investment is 4.16mn reais (US$737,000), with an execution period of 15 months after contract signing, said the state government in a statement. 

The opening of proposals is scheduled for December 9 on the federal government's purchasing portal, Compras.gov. 

The state will build three road sections.

The first comprises a stretch between highways BR-277 and BR-116, totaling 55km, in addition to a 10km access road to the port of Antonina.

The second 62km section will run between BR-277 and BR-376, on the border with Santa Catarina state, while the third section will be built at Guaratuba bay, totaling 24km.

The new roads will reduce traffic congestion and benefit logistics firms by improving access to the ports of Antonina and Paranaguá, as well as the tourism sector and the entire population of the coast, said Sandro Alex, state secretary of infrastructure and logistics.
