PDVSA increases capacity of the Electric Substation in the Carabobo de Faja block

Morichal, September 27, 2019.- The Electric Services Management of the Carabobo Division, attached to the Hugo Chávez Orinoco Oil Belt, successfully executes the project to increase the distribution capacity of the Morichal Electric Substation, a work that guarantees the reliability of the service and the energy necessary for the growth of the businesses that make up the Carabobo block in the next 20 years.

Located south of the Monagas state, the Morichal Electric Substation is part of the Morichal Operating Center (COMOR) and supports the operational demand of the Morichal District, Petrolera Sinovensa, PetroIndepedencia, PetroCarabobo and Petrodelta businesses.

Currently, the Carabobo Division and the mixed company Petrolera Sinovensa are replacing the two main transformers of the substation. This project has an advance of 90% and a market cost of 4.8 million dollars.

The project will have immediate operational benefits for the Carabobo Division, since it directly ensures the energy necessary for the growth of the DCO production of Petrolera Sinovensa, and improves the reliability and operational flexibility of the electrical system.

Recently an inspection of the works was carried out by the General Manager of the Carabobo Division, Hervis Márquez, who interacted with the workers, technicians and engineers who are in charge of the work, highlighting that the increase in the distribution capacity in the Morichal Electric Substation translates the sustained effort of the Bolivarian Government for the benefit of Petroleos de Venezuela.

"Despite the blockade and the economic sanctions imposed arbitrarily by the US government, the execution of projects that support the recovery of oil production continues, as the main source of income for the Venezuelan people," he said.

Márquez also stressed that the project is carried out jointly between the mixed company Petrolera Sinovensa and the Carabobo Division through the Electric Services Management, which makes this work an example of PDVSA business integration in search of achieving objectives that support and increase oil production, and thus improve the income of our Nation.
