PDVSA readies recovery plan for Refinación Oriente

Puerto La Cruz.- The People's Power Minister for Petroleum and President of Petróleos de Venezuela, SA (PDVSA), Pedro Tellechea Ruiz, held a working meeting with the management team of Refinación Oriente, in which the comprehensive plan for recovery.

The activity carried out in the Guaraguao headquarters building was attended by the Vice President of Refining, Gustavo Boada and the executive directors of Refining, Manuel Ruza; New Refineries, Upgraders and Maritime Terminals, Douglas Ávila and the general manager of the Buenos Aires refinery, Itsvhan Calma, together with the management team.

Calma presented the current condition of the plants that make up the complex and a medium-term maintenance plan that allows the National Refining System to achieve early victories, to continue guaranteeing safe operations at the Puerto La Cruz, El Chaure and San Roque refineries.

The executive director of Refining at PDVSA, Manuel Ruza, highlighted that the aforementioned refinery has the reliability required by the country's main industry, thanks to the fact that it receives the crude diet corresponding to its design.

Also present at the meeting was the Deep Conversion Project team, which will allow the processing of heavy and extra-heavy crude oil from the "Hugo Chávez Frías" Orinoco Oil Belt.

Subsequently, Minister Tellechea carried out an inspection at pier 1 of the Guaraguo Storage and Shipping Terminal (TAEG), where the rehabilitation and recovery of this work space is planned jointly between Refinación Oriente and PDVSA Industrial, to guarantee the work docking and undocking of ships from this facility.
