Pedregal, Fortuna, ACP win Fenosa supply contracts

Panamanian generators Pedregal Power and Fortuna won a contract to supply power to local distributor Edemet earlier this month, while the Panama Canal Authority won a contract to supply sister distributor Edechi. The contracts are to supply 190MW to Edemet and 30MW to Edechi, in both cases for two years starting from January 2004, said Miriam de Guerra, power purchase and regulation director at the distributors' parent, Union Fenosa Panama. Edemet has close to 253,000 clients, a maximum demand of 445MW and sells an annual average of 2,431GWh. Edechi has 78,000 clients, a maximum demand of 64.1MW and sells an annual average 374.7GWh.
