This CNE release was published using machine translation.
Santo Domingo Dominican Republic. (09/08/2023). – The Dominican State, through the National Energy Commission (CNE), will add 70 megawatts (MW) of clean energy to the national electrical system, by granting the definitive concession for the construction of the “Peravia Solar II” photovoltaic solar park, located in Baní, Peravia.
The authorization was formalized through the signing of an agreement between Edward Veras, Executive Director of the CNE, and Edwin de los Santos Alcántara, representing the company IE DR PROJECTS I, SRL, in a brief event in the conference room of the institution.
Executive Director Veras highlighted the focus of President Abinader's government on stimulating, within a legal and transparent framework, these types of projects that transform the generation matrix with clean energy.
For his part, Mr. Santos Alcántara thanked the authorities for the facilities provided throughout the entire process and reiterated the company's commitment to continue investing in the national electricity sector and in the protection of a more sustainable environment.
The “Peravia Solar II” solar park will not only contribute to the generation of clean energy, but will also strengthen the Dominican Republic's position at the forefront of the transition towards more sustainable and renewable energy sources. This project is a clear example of the country's continued commitment to a greener and more sustainable future.
