Peru gas distribution infrastructure call draws 3 groups
Three offers were submitted to Peru’s energy and mines ministry in the tender to install natural gas infrastructure in Quillabamba, Cusco region.
The bidders were Consorcio ACP (Construredes-Alfa Co-Productos y Servicios Técnicos), Natural Gas Company (Nagasco), Consorcio PA-Farmin Quillabamba (PA Peru-Fabriciación y Reparaciones Múltiples e Industriales). A decision is expected next month.
The 12-month contract worth US$4.73 million entails the construction of a satellite regasification plant, 25km of distribution network and 1,000 connection pipes.
The call is part of a special infrastructure project program for the massification of gas in the interior of the country financed by social energy inclusion fund FISE.
Meanwhile, as part of the same program, the ministry postponed presentation of offers to carry out projects in the Suroeste natural gas distribution concession area.
The ministry cited “logistical complications” as the reason and said a new date will be announced when the impasse is over.
In related news, the ministry and the municipality of Padre Abad in Ucayali region signed a natural gas use agreement which includes identifying a site to develop a project.
