Peru releases US$130mn for municipal water, road infra works

Peru’s central government authorized the transfer of 479mn soles (US$130mn) to 40 municipalities in 15 regions, aimed at investments in waterworks and road infrastructure under the Perú en Marcha reactivation plan.

Overall, 130 works will benefit this year, 74 of which relate to rural sanitation, six to urban sanitation, and 50 to road infrastructure and urban projects like parks.

Cajamarca will receive 97mn soles, Ayacucho 65.5mn soles, La Libertad 49mn soles, Junín 32.8mn soles, Amazonas 21.1mn soles, Huanuco 35mn soles, and Puno 23.6mn soles.

Also, 20.6mn soles will be transferred to San Martín, 26mn soles to Apurímac, 21mn soles to Áncash, 20.9mn soles to Huancavelica, 47.4mn soles to Loreto, 9.39mn soles to Piura, 9.21mn soles to Cusco, and 719,179 soles go to Ica.

The government will also transfer 2.1mn soles to the housing, construction and sanitation ministry to finance monitoring of 14 works under the core builder modality.
