Peru power watch: Concession deal, financing, supply agreements
The Peruvian State and Engie Transmisión Perú signed 30-year concession contracts for power transmission projects Aguaytía-Pucallpa, Tarma-Chanchamayo and Huaraz, Engie said in a disclosure.
Investment promotion agency ProInversión awarded the planned infrastructure in December that will span the regions of Ucayali, Junín and Áncash.
The works are part of binding projects in power grid coordinator COES's 2023-32 transmission plan.
Financing
Lima power distributor Pluz Energía Perú secured 230mn soles (US$63mn) in bank financing.
In a local securities filing, the company, formerly known as Enel Distribución Perú, said the operation consists of two promissory notes, with terms of one year for 200mn soles and a second for 30mn soles.
"The use of such funds is for general corporate purposes," added Pluz, without disclosing the names of the lenders.
Pluz serves around 1.6mn clients in a concession area of 1,602km2. The capital's other power distributor is Luz del Sur.
Supply agreements
Power producer Empresa de Generación Eléctrica San Gabán signed supply agreements with Pluz Energía Perú and Servicios Eléctricos Rioja (Sersa).
In separate announcements, San Gabán said it will provide 10-15MW to help Pluz cover free market demand this year, and 3.5MW to Sersa in 2029-37.
