Peru publishes Norte gas concession rates, plan resolution
Peru’s energy and mining investment regulator Osinergmin published the resolution which sets the 2025-28 rates for the Norte natural gas distribution concession.
Promigas-controlled Gases del Pacífico (GDP), also known as Quavii, is the operator of the concession which covers the northern regions of Lambayeque, La Libertad, Áncash and Cajamarca.
The watchdog previously released a draft resolution for the concession after the presentation of GDP’s initial 2025-29 plan proposal and subsequent plan update.
The final resolution, which may be appealed and is available in the Documents box in the top right corner, outlines investment of US$15mn to install 91km of pipelines and 188km of connections, among other infrastructure.
The goal is to connect 64,343 new clients to existing and new networks. The number of clients at the end of 2023 was 245,082.
BNamericas previously reported that GDP considered Osinergmin’s proposal for the recognition of capex and opex costs as “arbitrary and unreasonable,” arguing that they do not reflect a virtual distribution and transportation system.
