Peru readies first tenders under US$2bn govt-to-govt agreement

Prequalification processes for the first auctions under the 7bn-sol (US$2bn) Peru-UK government-to-government agreement will begin next week.

The documents for school infrastructure projects will be released on August 19 and for hospitals on August 20, David Kenna, representative of the UK’s delivery team (UKDT) said during a webinar hosted by the Lima chamber of commerce.

Prequalification will be open until September 2 for schools and until September 3 for hospitals, while winners will be announced on September 11.

Interested firms can register via this form, in Spanish, on the website of reconstruction authority RCC.

Under the government-to-government agreement, Peru plans to repair or rebuild 15 hospitals and 74 schools, plus water management plants for 15 river basins. 

A virtual roadshow featuring the first school projects to be tendered will take place on August 17, while another one for hospitals will take place on August 18.
