Peru readying new offer of power dispatch works
A new round of power transmission projects is set to be launched in Peru as part of a reassignment process to fast-track the execution of dispatch infrastructure.
The energy and mines ministry published candidate works for companies that fall under the scope of state business financing fund Fonafe.
The projects, which are part of the 2021-25 power investment plan, include the overhaul of the Ayacucho Sur and Puntayacu substations, and lines Runatullo-Satipo, Caserío Aricota-Challaguaya, and Challaguaya-Tarata.
In June, BNamericas reported that Alupar Perú was the winner in the initial call.
The government established the mechanism in 2021 to reactivate complementary transmission system projects which are part of transmission investment plans previously approved by energy and mining investment regulator Osinergmin.
DEMAND GUIDANCE
Meanwhile, power grid administrator COES’s latest medium-term report shows that energy and capacity demand this year is forecast to grow 3% and 3.5%, respectively, to 61,009GWh and 8,150MW.
Energy and capacity demand growth in 2025 is projected to increase 3.9% and 1.6% to 63,378GWh and 8,278MW.
