Peru to concession southern fuel terminals
Peru's government plans to launch a new call for bids to operate southern fuel terminals Pisco, Ilo, Mollendo, Cusco and Juliaca, BNamericas has learned.
No offers were submitted for the infrastructure in state oil company Petroperú's original call in 2014, when 20-year contracts were awarded to consortium Terminales del Perú (Graña y Montero Petrolera-Oiltanking Perú) to operate northern and central terminals.
That same year, the NOC extended Consorcio Terminales' (Graña y Montero Petrolera-Oiltanking Perú) contract to operate the southern terminals until the launch of a new concession process.
In the latest development, Petroperú has directly awarded Lima-based Summa Asesores Financieros a 30-month contract to help structure, promote and accompany the new tender.
The work includes reviewing market demand forecasts for the terminals and the existing operating contracts, and helping to prepare a contract model and a list of potential bidders.
In a related note, Petroperú issued a call to supply power for 20 years to the new Ilo fuel terminal which is scheduled to enter service this year.
The NOC also has bidding underway to install new underwater lines and a multibuoy terminal at the Talara terminal.
